What has happened after Ashtyns sister shows up, the two teenagers have realized they have chemistry but neither one of them wants to admit it. Ashtyn hasn't been more confused in her life. She finds out her "boyfriend" is still talking to his ex, and is transferring to their rival school to be captain. On the other hand, Derek finds out that his grandmother, his moms mom who he hasn't spoken to since his mother died, is also dying. But before he found out, Ashtyn did because he decided to not have anything to do with her. 

The book im reading is about a boy from California who gets expelled from his boarding school for doing a prank. Then he is forced to move to Chicago with his step mom and her 5 year old son Julian. Did I mention his name is Derek? Anyway, another main character is Ashtyn Parker. A young girl who has a dream to go pro in football. Everything is going good in her life, up until she is voted captain for her team. Which makes her boyfriend, Landon, very angry. Now heres the real twist where things will start to get interesting. Ashtyns sister who is moving back home is Derek's step mom. They have to try and figure out how to get along without "getting along".
